When is serverless the wrong choice?: When a workload runs constantly at high volume, needs very low and predictable latency, or runs long jobs that bump execution limits. At that point a container service is usually cheaper and simpler. We decide per workload, on the actual numbers.
What is edge compute, and when does it help?: Edge compute runs your code in data centres close to users — via Cloudflare Workers, for example — instead of one central region. It is ideal for low-latency APIs, personalisation, redirects and caching logic where the round trip to a single origin would feel slow.
Will cold starts hurt our users?: Rarely, when designed for. We keep functions lean, choose runtimes with fast starts, and use provisioned concurrency or edge platforms where latency is critical. For most workloads the trade-off strongly favours paying only for what you use.
